Thank you friends. Thank you.
I am deeply honoured and humbled to be elected as your Mayor. It’s something that I will take on with great care and responsibility. I know I am here because you have placed your trust in me, and I won’t take that lightly.
I’d like to recognize Jim Coyle and all of the candidates who put their names forward for the good of the community. Democracy promotes progress through peaceful competition of ideas and interests.
We did just that.
The election results are-the culmination of efforts over several weeks. A small team were there along the way to help and support.
I want to take a moment to thank volunteers like Mike Keough, Diane Bonner, Jennifer Hebert, Jill Linfoot and Alyssa Heffernan who spent hours helping to canvass and making connections.
As well, thanks to my team at work who stepped up in their roles In particular, Jess Watson who would seamlessly pick up where I left off.
Finally, I would like to thank my family who have supported me along this journey in so many ways. Dan, Briar, Rosey, Linda & Bryan – from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Over the past several weeks you have heard me talking about Building on Traditions and my 50-Point Action Plan.
It’s time to stop talking, and start doing. The work begins today. I look forward to working with the new Council to achieve our collective goals.
