On August 28 the Warsaw and District Lions Club held a cruise night in partnership with the United Way Peterborough and District. As a United Way Campaign Cabinet Member, I was helping to organize the event.
It’s no surprise that the community stepped forward to make it an amazing event.
Be proud friends that this is the first ever event the United Way has been part of in the County. They had no idea what they were in for and we did it up proper.
So many people to thank!
The Lions Club was an amazing community partner. They rallied neighbouring clubs and the Knights of Columbus to help cook and serve up food and be gracious hosts.

Then there was Peterborough County Council led by our Mayor and Warden J. Murray Jones. We had Council representatives from Selwyn, North Kawartha, Havelock Belmont Methuen, Otonabee South Monaghan, Asphodel Norwood, Trent Lakes and Douro Dummer.
Sound pros Andy and John who kept us bopping.
Elsie Tedford who set up a raffle table.
The car clubs and motorcycle riders who shined it all up for the night.
OPP, EMS, Fire and the County who had a great display of lights and sounds on their equipment.
Finally, all those who came out and participated in the event. It was amazing to see so many people out, connecting with neighbours and friends on such a beautiful night.
Much love and appreciation to all.
