Age-friendly Peterborough is a community based collaborative that works to build a more inclusive, respectful and accessible community for our aging population.

Partners on the initiative include Hiawatha First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation, County of Peterborough and City of Peterborough as well as the United Way Peterborough & District.

Currently they are looking for feedback for the study that will explore improving recreation and leisure opportunities for those 50+ across the region.

The information gathered will:

  • support a strategy for older adult recreation and leisure services and facilities that evaluates current and potential resources to better support older adults in our communities; and
  • make recommendations to increase opportunities for those aged 50+ to participate in recreation and leisure activities by addressing barriers to participation

There’s an online survey which is available until March 11.

Participation in the survey will help shape the future of older adult recreation and leisure in the local area.
